PARKDALE CENTER

Parkdale Center provides educational opportunities for preschool children 3-5 years of age and their families. Our site offers a preschool class Monday-Wednesday mornings from 8:30 to 12:30 with transportation provided.  Monthly home visits are also part of our curriculum and additional services such as connections to community agencies can be provided at that time.

Our program is fun and educational because play is the foundation of all learning. Staff members design lesson plans for the individual strengths and needs of the children in their classroom. Children gain self-confidence as they independently explore learning centers such as; dramatic play, science, creative art, math, music and computers. At Parkdale Head Start children are taught in a warm and caring environment where they can gain the skills that will guide them toward future success. Your child will be introduced to the concepts of “cause and effect” and “more and less,” social skills in similarities and diversity, cognitive skills like sequencing and matching, and language art skills such as storytelling and writing. We have a thoughtfully arranged classroom and a playground designed for exploration and fun. We invite special guests and parents to share their interests and talents with the children and take fieldtrips to local museums and libraries.
